Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plate Maker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the fabrication and preparation of printing plates. This role requires an understanding of prepress processes and quality control to ensure that all printed materials meet our high standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for physical creation of lithographic plates.
- Impose images and operate plate making, bending/tabbing equipment to prepare plates for press.
- Review images produced on plate for defects or errors; compare to approved artwork or printed sample provided.
- Maintain production documentation.
- Replenish materials necessary in automatic plate processors and perform routine light maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain inventory for plate making materials.
- Identify missing or problematic components and communicate them to the CSR, customer and production personnel.
- Work closely with CSRs to determine schedule of offset press.
- Perform quality checks on finished plates before releasing to manufacturing.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on platemaking equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Follows instructions, responds to management.
- Able to work overtime and work on any shift.
- Attention to detail.
- Manage projects and good time management skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
