What are the responsibilities and job description for the Battery Assembler | Charger position at Lithion Battery INC?
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Battery Assembler plays an essential part in assembling lithium-ion batteries and performing tasks such as loading cells, aligning connectors, gluing covers, soldering, and assembling lids. The battery assembler assembles batteries for use in the oilfield industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Prepare battery cells and/or assemble battery packs including use of tack welding machine
- Soldering, including fuses, diodes, connectors, wires etc…
- Assemble wire harnesses and end caps for use in battery packs
- Attach wire harnesses to battery packs
- Handle fiberglass tubes
- Read/understand wiring diagrams and test batteries for proper connections per the drawing
- Clean and prep batteries for final Q/C inspection
- Package batteries in bags and/or boxes to be stored in inventory.
- Meet performance/production goals while working together as a team. Maintain productivity with minimal supervision.
- Maintain excellent communication with other production team members.
- Take responsibility/ownership/initiative over workload without continuous direction/management.
- Maintain fast paced work environment without supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, automation, or assembly is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic knowledge of computers and software
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Collaborative team player with great problem-solving skills
- Awareness of quality systems and the ability to follow processes
- Battery Safety Course (provided upon hire)
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is a Manufacturing Environment requiring some or all of the following:
- Prolonged periods of sitting while performing assembly tasks at a workstation, as well as the ability to stand for prolonged periods during assembly line work.
- Repetitive tasks involving hand and wrist motions, such as assembling small parts, using tools and operating machinery.
- Fine motor skills for accurate and efficient assembly.
- Frequent reaching, grasping, pushing or pulling production materials.
- Capable of lifting and carrying battery components, tools or assembled units weighing up to 50lbs. May involve moving or positioning items within the manufacturing area.
- Standing, bending or kneeling to access equipment, perform on-site assessments, operate machinery, handle delicate components or performs tasks at various heights and angles.
- Working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. May involve exposure to battery chemicals or other materials used in the assembly process.
- Required to wear and properly use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats as required by safety protocols.
