Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Community Educator to support the development and well-being of young children (ages 0-4) in our community. Duties
- Collaborate with team to develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
- Execute lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, engagement, and positive behavior management.
- Provide direct care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, including activities related to toddler care and daycare routines.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental progress.
- Support children's physical development through activities such as teaching physical education.
- Collaborate with families to support child welfare initiatives and communicate progress regularly.
- Incorporate Montessori or other specialized educational approaches as appropriate.
- Maintain documentation related to student progress, lesson planning, and classroom activities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood development, literacy education, and other relevant areas.
Requirements
- Willingness and ability to work with children (ages 0-4) in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
- Acceptance of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields; certifications in childhood development or Montessori training are a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of children including those requiring additional support such as special education services.
- Demonstrated commitment to child welfare and creating inclusive learning environments.
