Early Childhood Community Educator

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Community Educator to support the development and well-being of young children (ages 0-4) in our community. This role involves creating engaging educational experiences, fostering a nurturing environment, and collaborating with families and colleagues to promote childhood growth and learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in early childhood education, experience working with children, and a commitment to child welfare and development.

Duties

• Collaborate with team to develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
• Execute lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
• Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, engagement, and positive behavior management.
• Provide direct care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, including activities related to toddler care and daycare routines.
• Utilize classroom management techniques to foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor developmental progress.
• Support children's physical development through activities such as teaching physical education.
• Collaborate with families to support child welfare initiatives and communicate progress regularly.
• Incorporate Montessori or other specialized educational approaches as appropriate.
• Maintain documentation related to student progress, lesson planning, and classroom activities.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood development, literacy education, and other relevant areas.

Requirements

• Willingness and ability to work with children (ages 0-4) in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
• Acceptance of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, colleagues, and community partners.
• Background in early childhood education or related fields; certifications in childhood development or Montessori training are a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of children including those requiring additional support such as special education services.
• Demonstrated commitment to child welfare and creating inclusive learning environments. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
