Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver professional development workshops and coaching sessions for teachers, administrators, coaches, and families and caregivers.
- Collaborate with schools/districts to customize professional development to meet their unique needs, aligned with the research-based literacy approach of Literacy Partners while supporting them in improving student outcomes.
- Support educators in implementing effective reading, writing, and phonics instruction that fosters student engagement and independence and prepares them for the real world. This will include working with a district or school-adopted curriculum and/or helping them develop their own curriculum for literacy instruction.
- Build and nurture relationships with teachers, administrators, families and caregivers to encourage trust, collaboration, and continuous growth.
- Contribute to ongoing professional development content development and refinement — sharing best practices, resources, and strategies to support high-quality literacy instruction.
- Participate in team meetings, retreats, and staff-wellness or leadership development initiatives as part of the broader Literacy Partners team.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have at least 5 years classroom teaching experience within the TK-8 setting
- Must have at least 1 years of instructional coaching experience
- A valid CA driver’s license
- Strong belief in equity, student-centered instruction, and transformative literacy education.
- Excellent communicator, collaborative, flexible and able to adapt PD to diverse school contexts and needs.
- Clear understanding of explicit direct instruction of literacy skills and strategies,
- Passionate about reading, writing, and fostering lifelong literacy in students.
- Committed to growth — both for yourself and the educators you work with — and to building meaningful relationships.
- Bilingual and/or experience in special education settings is a plus

- Resume should include experience (institutes and any professional development or workshops you’ve attended) in literacy instruction.
- Teaching Video does not need to include students and could be an example of teaching via Zoom/Google Meet, but should demonstrate your expertise of literacy instruction. Some ideas could be:
- Teaching a reading workshop or writing workshop mini-lesson
- Teaching a small group lesson during independent reading or writing time
- Teaching a one-on-one conference during independent reading or writing time
- Leading an interactive read aloud or close reading session
- Leading a phonics or word work session
- Willing and able to commute daily to areas in and around Los Angeles County. You will be leading onsite professional development with teachers in schools 3-4 days a week with one day of prep from home.
Salary Info: $90,000- $100,000 starting salary
