Commercial Construction Foreman
Chantilly, VA | Northern Virginia & DC Metro | $24–$33/hour
Lite Building Services is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Foreman to lead field operations on commercial renovation, tenant improvement, and construction projects throughout Northern Virginia and the DC Metro area.
This is a hands-on field leadership position for a construction professional with a strong commercial background and the ability to coordinate crews, subcontractors, materials, and daily jobsite activities while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Field Operations
- Lead and direct field crews on commercial construction projects.
- Assign daily work and coordinate manpower based on project priorities.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, and progress.
- Provide direction and support to field personnel.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and safe jobsite.
Coordinate the Jobsite
- Manage daily field activities and coordinate multiple trades.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, materials, equipment, and deliveries.
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding project progress, needs, and potential issues.
- Coordinate work between crews and trades to keep projects moving efficiently.
Manage Quality, Safety & Schedule
- Monitor project progress against schedule and identify potential delays.
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain jobsite safety and compliance with company and project requirements.
- Identify issues early and communicate them appropriately.
Solve Problems in the Field
- Evaluate jobsite conditions and address issues as they arise.
- Coordinate solutions with subcontractors, Project Managers, and other trades.
- Use sound construction judgment to keep work progressing.
- Take ownership of the day-to-day field execution of the project.
Qualifications
- 4 years of commercial construction experience
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Superintendent, or similar field leadership role
- Proven experience leading construction crews and coordinating daily jobsite activities
- Strong knowledge of commercial renovations, tenant improvements, and general construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
- Understanding of commercial construction sequencing and jobsite safety
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems in the field
- Professional representation of the company with clients, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Authorized to work in the United States
