Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demos and inquiries about store merchandise
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer management with precision
- Process retail store product sales efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service and communication skills
- Upsell complementary products and promote ongoing promotions to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure an attractive and accessible shopping environment
- Maintain proper phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or in person, providing clear information and support
- Assist with merchandising efforts to ensure products are well-presented and inventory levels are maintained according to store standards
Skills
- Proven experience operating POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash registers with accuracy in retail math and cash handling
- Supervising experience or leadership skills to guide team members during busy periods or training new staff
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for retail transactions and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual settings to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Experience with grocery store operations or retail sales environments preferred
- Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and stock management practices
- Excellent phone etiquette, customer service orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
