What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Assistant (3 positions available) position at Litchfield Independent School District?
- FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT for up to 5.5 hours/day
- Comply with food and health safety requirements as governed by federal and state laws and regulations
- Greet and interact with customers in a respectful and prompt manner
- Operate commercial kitchen and cafeteria equipment, i.e. dishwasher, food processor, mixers, etc.
- Clean and sanitize: work areas, equipment, and counter/table surfaces
- Daily cleaning of kitchen space to include sweeping and mopping floors
- Follow proper restocking procedures and monitor expiration dates to ensure the highest quality foods
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the Food Service Department and the goals of the District
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
- Food and Sanitation Certifications will be required within the first year of employment
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Ability to pass criminal background check
- Safety training is provided by School District
- Medium work: Employee is required to stand, walk, bend, sit, lift and move objects.
- Hours are 5 hours per day during school days
- Additional training time as needed
- Schedule may be adjusted on days with late start or early exit from school

Litchfield Schools is seeking part time help in the Food Service Department!
There are currently 3 positions available working from 3.5 - 5.5 hours/day in multiple buildings.
Employees would only work on the days students are in the buildings.
It's a great fit for stay at home parents, retirees and/or former restaurant staff! All Holidays and weekends off.
Starting wage at $18.66 per hour.
