Position Summary:

As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in the daily care, enrichment, and safety of the dogs in our care. This position combines physical activity with hands-on animal handling and facility maintenance, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, pet-centric environment.

Key Responsibilities

Kennel Technician Duties

• Feed and water dogs according to individualized schedules and dietary needs
• Administer medications with precision, following veterinary & owner instructions
• Conduct daily wellness checks and report changes in health, appetite, or behavior
• Supervise dogs during off-leash group play, managing safe and appropriate socialization
• Provide crate or suite setups with fresh bedding, toys, and enrichment tailored to each dog
• Clean and disinfect kennels, crates, bowls, floors, and play areas following strict health and safety standards
• Handle laundry, waste disposal, and general facility upkeep
• Assist with baths, light grooming prep, or brushing as needed
• Keep detailed logs of feeding, medications, eliminations, behavior, and enrichment activities
• Assist in check-in/check-out procedures
• Support puppy, senior, and special-needs dog care with added attentiveness and customization

Dog Walker Duties (We also offer dog walking)

• Walk dogs individually while ensuring safety, control, and positive leash behavior
• Practice positive reinforcement and basic obedience during walks to encourage good behavior
• Monitor dogs for signs of fatigue, stress, injury, or health concerns during outings
• Ensure dogs are properly secured before and after walks (leashes, collars, harnesses, gates, doors, etc.)
• Clean up after dogs and dispose of waste in owner specified area
• Provide timely updates and feedback to management and clients using our software, including walk summaries and behavioral notes
• Support pick-up and drop-off logistics when offering in-home or door-to-door services
• Represent the company professionally and courteously when interacting with clients or the public

Optional / Premium Service Add-On Responsibilities

(For candidates interested in or qualified for expanded duties — training provided as needed)

• Provide one-on-one enrichment sessions, including basic training reinforcement, confidence building, or puzzle toys tailored to each dog’s needs
• Offer puppy care packages, such as potty training support, crate conditioning, and structured socialization
• Deliver senior or special-needs care, including mobility support, medication routines, and gentle handling
• Execute VIP or concierge services, such as in-home care visits, private transport to appointments, or boutique service requests
• Capture daily photo or video updates for clients, with professional presentation and thoughtful captions
• Assist in behavior observations and collaboration with certified trainers for individualized training follow-through
• Participate in special events (e.g. dog birthday celebrations, seasonal photoshoots, client engagement events) as a company ambassador
• Support client onboarding by conducting personality assessments or behavior evaluations for new dogs

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with dogs in a professional setting (daycare, boarding, vet, or rescue) strongly preferred
• Must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
• Excellent communication, observational, and problem-solving skills
• Flexible schedule with weekend and holiday availability
