Toddler Teacher (18-Month-Old Classroom)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic Toddler Teacher to support the growth and development of children around 18 months old. This role is essential in creating a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment where toddlers can explore, learn, and build foundational skills through play and positive interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, responsive care to meet each child’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs
- Create and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early learning, language development, and motor skills
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with Alabama Minimum Standards
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Communicate daily with parents regarding their child’s progress, routines, and any concerns
- Support social-emotional development by modeling kindness, patience, and appropriate behavior
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including diapering and handwashing procedures
- Observe and document developmental milestones
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or early childhood coursework preferred)
- Experience working with toddlers or young children preferred
- Knowledge of Alabama DHR Minimum Standards (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to lift, bend, and actively engage with children throughout the day
- Warm, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
