Salary: Competitive

We’re looking for a Clinical Case Manager to join our Case Management Team based at The Wellington Hospital. This is a role for an experienced nurse who wants to use their clinical expertise differently, stepping away from the bedside while staying close to patient care. Working at one of HCA Healthcare UK’s flagship hospitals in London, you’ll be part of a supportive, highly skilled team that plays a vital role in shaping safe, well‑coordinated patient journeys across both adult and paediatric services.

Our Case Management Team works at the intersection of clinical care, patient advocacy and system navigation. You’ll support patients and families through complex pathways, working closely with consultants, multidisciplinary teams and third‑party payers to ensure care is appropriate, timely and well planned. The team is known for its collaborative approach, strong professional standards and commitment to putting patients at the centre of every decision.

As a Clinical Case Manager, you’ll use your senior nursing experience to assess, plan and coordinate care from admission through to discharge. Your day‑to‑day work will balance clinical judgement with communication and problem solving, ensuring patients receive the right care in the right place while supporting effective use of resources. This role offers a rare opportunity to influence outcomes beyond the bedside, build strong professional relationships and develop your career within a large, established healthcare organisation.

Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. It’s this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Other’s may think this is just a role in the Case Management Team, but to us, you’ll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess, plan, coordinate and review patient care and discharge planning across adult and paediatric services, starting from admission.
  • Act as a key liaison between patients, families, clinicians and third‑party payers to support safe, effective and timely care.
  • Complete utilisation reviews and obtain authorisation for treatment and ongoing care as required.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary discussions and contribute to coordinated care and discharge decisions.
  • Promote patient advocacy, effective resource use and high standards of documentation and communication.

What You’ll Bring

  • NMC registration as an Adult Nurse, with substantial post‑registration experience and paediatric experience.
  • Extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience or significant experience within the healthcare insurance sector.
  • Proven experience of utilisation review and complex discharge planning.
  • Senior nursing experience at Band 6 or above, with management experience.
  • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working independently and as part of a team.
