What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food & Beverage Supervisor position at Lisle Park District?
The part-time Food & Beverage Supervisor will assist in overseeing the food and beverage service for the park district restaurant and bar adjoined to River Bend Golf Club. Hours will be approximately 30 hours per week. Will require working days, nights, and weekends.
Major responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Assists in overseeing food and beverage service for the restaurant and bar.
2. Greets and serves customers food and beverage orders while providing superior customer service.
3. Maintains a clean facility by clearing and wiping down tables and bar area, removing trash, washing glasses, utensils, and equipment
4. Maintains weekly/monthly inventory of all alcohol and anticipates restaurant business. Ensures that inventory is properly stored and handled.
5. Enforces regulations in all service areas including staff uniforms and appearance in accordance with Illinois Health codes. Ensures compliance with safety and sanitation regulations and food service guidelines.
6. Directs, trains and supervises food and beverage service staff in accordance with Lisle Park District Employee Handbook.
7. Schedules all front of house staffing needs.
8. Works cooperatively with district Marketing staff in the planning of advertising and promotions to increase recognition and enhance the image of the facility.
9. Organizes, prepares and records all invoices.
10. Maintains security and usage control in food and beverage areas and related facilities.
11. Reports all equipment repair and maintenance needs as they occur.
12. Seeks, interprets and implements input from patrons through regular public contact, surveys, and evaluations.
13. Recommends appropriate menu items and suitable pricing of food and beverage items.
14. Assists with annual budget preparation, making necessary revenue and expenditure adjustments.
15. Adheres to all standards set by the Illinois Department of Health and DuPage County Health Department guidelines.
16. Performs job safely and in compliance with the park district's policies and procedures, work rules and safety rules.
17. Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years-experience as a Food & Beverage Supervisor, preferably in a park/golf/restaurant industry
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations and best practices
- Outstanding communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Availability to work on nights and weekends
- Ability to prioritize, anticipate situations, and take quick action
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- CPR, First Aid, Food Handling, and Basset required and AED certification is required or willingness to obtain.
- Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry boxes, cases and kegs up to 35 pounds on average.
