Description:
As a Deli Associate at Liscio’s Italian Bakery, you’ll be responsible for preparing, slicing, assembling, and serving a variety of high-quality deli meats, cheeses, sandwiches, and baked goods in a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment. This role requires 1–2 years of prior deli experience, including safe operation of meat slicers and other deli equipment.
You may also assist in bakery-related tasks such as packaging baked items, preparing sandwich orders, and stocking shelves.
Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service at the deli counter
- Operate slicers, scales, ovens, and other deli equipment safely and efficiently
- Slice, weigh, label, and package deli items according to customer specifications
- Maintain and rotate deli and bakery inventory to ensure freshness
- Assist with the preparation and packaging of sandwiches and baked goods
- Ensure all deli and bakery displays are clean, stocked, and visually appealing
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with FDA and GMP standards
- Monitor product dates and remove expired or damaged items
- Assist with stocking bakery and deli shelves and transporting products as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have 1–2 years of experience working in a deli or food retail environment
- Proficient with knife and slicer equipment (required)
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, lift (up to 50 lbs), and carry products for extended periods
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Reliable transportation to Sicklerville, NJ
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with basic math and handling point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Previous bakery or food prep experience
