What are the responsibilities and job description for the English/Math Teacher position at Lisbon Regional/SAU 35?
Lisbon Regional School is looking for a candidate certified to teach high school English and certified, or able to become certified, to teach high school math. Schedule for the 2025-2026 school year will consist of a mix of english and math offerings, with the following school year transitioning to a schedule split between the two subjects.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the
maturity and interests of each student, and encourages mutual respect and effective
learning.
Plans lessons that employ a variety of 21st century learning instructional strategies that,
when implemented, strives to meet the needs and capabilities of each student based on
assessment data in your classroom.
Follows district curriculum goals and objectives to write appropriate lesson plans
designed to meet the learning needs of each student in your classroom.
Uses a variety of audio, visual, manipulative materials and technology integration and
other resources to support the delivery of the district’s curriculum.
Understands how students learn and develop and provides opportunities that support their
growth in cognitive, linguistic, creative, social, moral, emotional, and physical
development.
Identifies possible causes of student behavior and addresses the behavior constructively
following school board policy and the school procedures.
Assess student for the purpose of providing feedback to the teacher, students, parents,
administration, regarding student’s growth, meeting expectations, and goals.
Utilizes data from standardized tests and a variety of formative and summative
assessment to drive instruction.
Maintains maximum supervision of assigned students at all times and encourages
students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Strives to implement by instruction and action the Lisbon Regional School District’s
philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
Makes referrals to district specialists about students who exhibit signs of educational
delays or handicapping conditions.
Implements accommodations and modifications as listed on Individual Education Plans
(IEP) and 504 plans.
