What you’ll do
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
- Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are displayed attractively and organized according to store standards.
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items that enhance their shopping experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and stockroom to ensure a safe working environment.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly, adhering to cash handling policies and procedures.
Basic qualifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and team members.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience in merchandising or stocking in a grocery store setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with phone etiquette for effective communication within the team and with customers.
