Job Description
The Product Owner (PO) will help evolve software products through successive and iterative stages of discovery, definition, development, launch, and post-release support. The PO is responsible for driving the realization of high-value capabilities for specific products. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, and other stakeholders (such as business, legal/compliance, and operations) to ensure that the detailed designs and requirements meet the needs of external clients and consumers, and internal stakeholders. As this is a small team, the right person will embrace the hybrid role of Product Owner, Scrum Master, and participate in final validation testing.

Compensation is determined by various factors such as location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal and external equity and organizational needs. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $103,800 annually. The posted range reflects our national average range for the job. We may ultimately pay more or less than the published range based on the factors mentioned above. This range may be modified in the future.

Responsibilities
- Prioritize, and maintain the development team’s product backlog, including definition of features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate technical information, workflows, and functional requirements into comprehensive user stories with appropriate acceptance criteria.
- Serve as the “voice of the user” with the delivery team by representing the user’s perspective throughout the product realization cycle.
- Work closely with clients and internal team members to elicit requirements, probe for hidden requirements, and remove ambiguities to help ensure a successful product launch.
- Break down epic-level user stories into detailed user stories that the development team can effectively interpret and build.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, business users, developers, testers, and others to develop and execute the product roadmap.
- Continuously and transparently communicate with internal stakeholders the status of the product backlog and of the development efforts via product demos, release notes/plans, and other means as needed.
- Facilitate scrum team events including backlog refinement/grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Act as the subject matter expert for assigned products.
- Collaborate with user experience (UX/UI) professionals in usability testing and the development of the user interface.
- In partnership with other Product Management, QA and development, assess and prioritize the impact of defects, including providing key input on the decisions to fix or defer.
- In coordination with product management, review, and prioritize feature requests from stakeholders.
- Ensure that the team deliverables meet agreed upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements, and that the product meets the stated business need.
- Ensure appropriate user and technical documentation is created for each product release.
- Assist customer support teams to develop and implement training and communication materials that allow customers to understand the product and changes made to it.
- Daily management of Jira project space
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience driving projects that involve external customer facing web technologies and concept including, API development, mobile first design, APP development and 3rd party integrations
- Experience with cloud-native/serverless application development is a plus
- Experience with usability testing – A/B testing and or web analytics preferred
- Experience with search engine optimization is a plus
- An active certification in one or more of the following: CSPO, A-CSPO, CSP-PO, PSPO I, PSPO II, PSPO III, SAFe POPM, PMI-ACP is a plus
- Minimum of 3-years digital product owner, business analysis, or development experience
- Experience working in a multi-team Agile/Scrum work environment as a product owner and/or scrum master
- Experience working with an off-shore development team is a must
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of Internet technologies and web-based software development
- Base understanding and experience with functional testing and validation
- Proficiency with TEAMS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Experience with work item and defect tracking management systems (e.g., Visual Studio Online, Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- High integrity and accountability
- Ability to work with a team to re-factor priorities based on business needs
- Strong attention to detail and track record of producing quality work
- Team player with strong work ethic, and a quick learner
- Diplomatic with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Comfortable pushing management and teams to decisions; willing to push back for information and answers
