Assistant General Manager / Manager in Training -- Car Wash

We're a locally owned car wash looking for an Assistant General Manager who wants more than just another job. Our business is growing faster than one manager can handle, and we need a strong second-in-command — someone we can develop into a General Manager who runs a location start to finish.

If you've been the person others rely on at your current job but nobody's ever handed you the keys, this is that opportunity. You'll be trained directly by our General Manager and ownership, and you'll learn every part of the operation: people, equipment, chemistry, customers, and the numbers behind it all.

What You'll Do

Day to Day

• Open and/or close the site; run shifts independently once trained
• Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of hourly attendants
• Keep the tunnel, vacuums, pay stations, and grounds clean, working, and presentable
• Step in on the line during rushes — this is a hands-on, on-your-feet role
• Handle customer questions, complaints, and recoveries with professionalism

Growing Into

• Interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling staff
• Monitoring wash quality, chemical usage, and equipment performance
• Basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting (we'll teach you)
• Driving membership sales and hitting monthly capture-rate goals
• Reviewing daily reports, labor costs, and site P&L
• Ultimately: full responsibility for a location

What We're Looking For

Required

• 1 years leading people in a fast-paced setting — car wash, restaurant, retail, quick lube, hospitality, warehouse, or similar
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable being the first one in and the last one out
• Able to work weekends and holidays (our busiest days) on a rotating schedule
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in Illinois weather
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stay on your feet through a full shift
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Basic comfort with computers, POS systems, and smartphone apps

Nice to Have (Not Required — We Train)

• Car wash or automotive experience
• Mechanical aptitude or hands-on maintenance background
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Experience with scheduling, inventory, or P&L
