What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will provide patient-centred care as an Occupational Therapist in the Acute Mental Health/Forensic Unit, supporting adults experiencing psychiatric crises or detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA). You will conduct functional and risk assessments, implement tailored therapeutic interventions, and contribute to recovery-focused discharge planning. Working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, you will manage complex mental health needs, including forensic histories. Your responsibilities also include facilitating group therapy, supporting structured routines, contributing to risk management strategies, and adapting to dynamic clinical demands in a secure, rehabilitative environment.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- HCPC registration and a degree-level qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Proven experience in adult mental health, ideally within acute or forensic settings
- Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and risk assessment frameworks
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of an MDT
- Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions and group work in secure environments is highly desirable
