Plumber I (Apprentice Plumber)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

Liquid Environmental Solutions is a leading provider of environmentally responsible services for the removal of non-hazardous liquid waste. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Plumber III (Master Plumber). The Plumber I (Apprentice Plumber) assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This is a hands-on learning opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the plumbing industry.

Compensation: starting at $26/hr

Location: Hueytown, AL

Essential Functions

• Assist in installing and repairing pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment.
• Measure, cut, and assemble plumbing system components using hand and power tools.
• Help diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate solutions.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow safety procedures and local plumbing codes.
• Clean and prepare job sites before and after work.
• Support licensed plumbers with inspections and testing of systems.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Operate company vehicle -- following company safety policies.

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic understanding of plumbing systems and tools (a plus).
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy materials.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) (a plus).
• Knowledge of the International Plumbing Code (IPC) (a plus).
• Knowledge of the local jurisdictional plumbing code (required).

Education and requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Apprentice plumbing card (or greater)
• Driver's license and 1-year minimum driving experience
• Clean driving record (MVR review prior to hire)

Working Environment:

• Both indoor and outdoor in various weather conditions.
• May involve standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Use of protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and hard hats may be required.

Potential Career Path:

Successful Plumber I (Apprentice Plumbers) may advance to become Plumber II (Journeyman Plumbers) and eventually Plumber III (Master Plumbers) with experience and certification.
