Financial Accountant
Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria LLP is seeking an Financial Accountant to join its Accounting Department.

Position Summary
The Financial Accountant supports the Controller and accounting team by interpreting financial data, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring the integrity of financial records and transactions. This role helps maintain compliance with accounting GAAP standards and supports month-end and year-end close activities and reporting while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes. Ongoing bank reconciliations without the use of software systems. Also, a large amount of time will be utilizing Aderant, the Firm’s time, billing, and accounting system.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and enter general ledger entries and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
- Assist in monthly financial and key metric monthly management reports in Excel, exported from the Aderant System.
- Perform manual monthly bank reconciliations for twelve (12) high activity bank accounts using Excel and Bank exports including identifying and resolving discrepancies of cash receipts and accounts payable payment.
- Identify accounting discrepancy and collaborate with the team to resolve those items.
- Maintain and organize accurate financial records and reports.
- Understanding and managing fixed assets records for annual reporting
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records or with billing issues using Aderant subledgers.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting client and issues as needed.
- Manage records, projects, and deadlines to ensure smooth accounting department operations and annual filings.
- Prepare 1099-year end reporting.
- Cross train across all functions in the accountant team
- Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and software workflows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Advance Excel experience necessary.
- Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliation and banking statement details
- Understanding of recording payroll in the general ledger including payroll journal entry import and balancing activities.
- Ability to multitask daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities and deadlines.
Preferred Requirements.
- 3 years of manual bank reconciliation experience.
- Experience working with Aderant accounting system report generator packages and reporting parameters.
- Familiarity with banking accounts functions, including Zero Balance Account (ZBA), Interest on Lawyer Account (IOLA)/Trust accounts.
- Ability to learn various features on a subledger to ledger software and participate in the day of closing process and balancing process.
- Knowledge of A/P and A/R functions and the relation to the general ledger accounts
- Experience with Client Billing.
Education
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years’ experience in an accounting role.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Compensation:
- $50,000 - $60,000 annualized, commensurate with experience, education, skills and qualifications.
