  • Summary/Objective:

    The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting saft, efficient plant operations. This role focuses on preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and partnering with operations to drive continuous improvement manufacturing assets.

    Essential Functions:

  • Analyze equipment performance, downtime, and failure data to improve asset reliability and uptime.
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related equipment failures.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) activities and implement corrective actions for significant equipment issues.
  • Partner with operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing performance.
  • Utilize CMMS data and maintenance metrics to drive data-based reliability decisions.
  • Other Key Responsibilities

  • Support or lead equipment upgrades, refurbishments, and new equipment installations.
  • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation including schematics, PM instructions, and spare parts lists
  • Standardize maintenance procedures and best practices across production equipment and lines
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, and safety teams to support production and business goals
  • Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and improve asset lifecycle performance
  • Support lean manufacturing, TPM, uptime improvements, equipment replacements, and asset reliability
  • Participate in safety investigations and support corrective actions related to equipment or maintenance activities
  • Promote and model a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

    Working Conditions:

    • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
    • May sit for several hours at a time.
    • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
    • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related technical field.
    • 2-5 plus years of experience in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, or manufacturing engineering
    • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems
    • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
    • Proficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance performance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, downtime, etc.)

  • Supervisory Responsibility:

    This role has no supervisory responsibilities upon hiring.

    Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager. Occasional after hours or on call support may be required.

    Travel:

    Travel will be minimal and will be primarily local during the business day.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, robotics, or automated manufacturing systems
    • Formal root cause analysis and reliability engineering experience
    • Exposure to TPM, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma mythologies
    • Project management experience supporting equipment upgrades, process improvements, or capital projects.
