Ohio Valley Manor Care Community is seeking a full-time Infection Control/Wound Nurse for a for a challenging and fast paced position in our long-term care and assisted living facility located in Ripley, OH. As a healthcare professional specializing in the care and management of patients with acute or chronic wounds, Wound Care/Infection Control nurses play a pivotal role in promoting healing, preventing infection, and improving the overall quality of life for their patients. You will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for our patients and staff. From patient assessment and treatment plan development to interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education that make this position both challenging and immensely fulfilling. This position is a full-time position with on-call rotation participation mandatory.
- Assess and evaluate patient wounds to determine the appropriate course of treatment
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans
- Clean & dress wounds, ensuring sterile techniques are followed.
- Monitor and document patient progress, updating treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on wound care best practices & infection prevention
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient care
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Experience in staff education & training
Qualifications:
Job Qualifications for our Wound Care/Infection Control nurse must include the following:
- Licensed LPN or RN in the state of Ohio
- One year of experience in wound care and infection control & prevention in a healthcare setting
- Infection Preventionist Training (CDC) preferred or willingness to obtain
- Advanced knowledge of wound care treatments & technologies
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal infection control regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of team.
- Experience in patient education and support
- Ability to perform wound care procedures
