Position Summary
The accounting clerk performs routine accounting tasks such as recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, managing invoices and payments. This role ensures that financial data is accurate, organized, and up to date, contributing to the overall financial health and compliance with the business and accounting standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
· Enter financial data into accounting systems.
· Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.
· Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
· Prepare and issue invoices and payments.
· Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
· Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking.
· Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
· Assist with additional tasks as needed.
· Support external audits and internal audits.
· Review, verify, and process vendor invoices.
· Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
· Prepare and process weekly payment runs.
· Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies.
· Reconcile vendor statements.
· Respond to vendor inquiries.
· Generate and send customer invoices.
· Post customer payments and maintain accurate records.
· Monitor accounts for overdue payments.
· Follow up on outstanding balances.
· Assist with credit checks and customer account setup.

· 1 to 3 years’ experience in accounting or related field.
Physical/Work Requirements
- Ability to work in a professional office environment and use standard office equipment.
- The role may involve repetitive tasks and deadlines, especially during financial reporting periods.
- Based in New Jersey (on-site or hybrid as determined by company).
- Primarily office/administrative work environment.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
