Essential  Responsibilities:

• Support students by providing one-on-one and small group instruction, and small group intervention and student support; 
• Assist lead teacher(s) with instruction, assessments, grading, and other classroom responsibilities; 
• Assist the teacher in assessing the needs of the students. Assist the teacher in creating a classroom environment conducive for learning; 
• Provide substitute teaching coverage for teachers within the school (if needed); 
• Implementing curricula and activities to meet academic standards; 
• Input student data into appropriate school systems; 
• Participating in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions, events, and trips; 
• Supervising students during transitions, breakfast, lunch, recess and after school; 
• Communicating effectively with students, families, and colleagues; 
• Participating in ongoing staff orientation and training. 
• Serve as case manager for at least 2 students receiving special education services participating in ongoing staff orientation and training.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
• Hold yourself to high professional standards
• Bachelor’s Degree required Master’s Degree preferred. 
• Fluent in both Spanish and English is a plus. 
• Experience with Google applications & student database systems
• Strong interpersonal skills, team player, problem solver
• Hard-working, urgent, energetic, and are willing to learn and adapt; 
• A strong candidate will possess strong communication skills (particularly with children), and problem solving skills;
• Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities is preferred.
• A high school diploma, or equivalent
• Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education preferred 
• Have NYS Teaching Assistant Certification, or be willing to obtain 
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Twi) preferred 

Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
