What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Associate position at Lion-Heart?
We ship for e-commerce brands, and we hold products for technology and specialty makers that are accounted for one unit at a time. Accuracy is the product. We are an established New Jersey company, ten years in, and this is the first hire on a new team: half on the floor, half at the client desk for the whole company. You would learn the whole operation rather than one station on a line.
What you would do
- Receive shipments and scan every unit in, one at a time
- Put away to labelled locations, and keep the record exact
- Pick, and verify every unit again as it is packed
- Run counts, and report anything that does not match
- Open returns the day they arrive: photograph, test, write up what you found
- Build kits and configure product to a written specification
- Book shipments, track them, and chase carriers when something goes wrong, including the claim
- Run the client desk for both sides of the business: answer brands' and clients' day-to-day questions, enter orders, keep people updated, and own the reply until it is resolved
- Write down how each job is done, so the next person does it the same way
What we need
- Careful with detail. You read a serial number character by character, every time
- You follow a procedure when nobody is watching, and you say something when a number is wrong instead of quietly correcting it
- Comfortable with a scanner, a laptop and a spreadsheet
- Able to write a clear, calm email to a client without being coached
- Able to lift and move cartons, and be on your feet through a shift
- Valid driver's licence. The role covers two of our Monmouth County sites, on fixed days
- Background check before starting, and annually after that. We do this for everyone, partners included
Helpful, not required: work where counting and dual control were normal. Bank or vault operations, a casino cage, pharmacy, jewellery or watch retail, a museum or laboratory, QC or calibration.
What we offer
- $60,000 to $65,000 a year, reviewed at 90 days
- Full-time, across two of our sites on fixed days
- Paid travel time between sites and mileage at the IRS rate
- A real path: this role grows into floor lead, and from there into running a client account. We would rather promote you than hire above you
- Training on everything. We care how you work, not what you have handled before
To apply: use the form at lionheartny.com/careers/apply. It takes five minutes and asks one real question: a time you found a mistake in someone else's records, and what you did about it. We read every one and reply either way.
Lion-Heart is an equal opportunity employer. We do not ask about criminal history on this application. A background check is run after a conditional offer, in line with New Jersey law and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
