POSTED ON 7/27/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/25/2026

ROLE SUMMARY

The Journeyman Electrician serves as the primary electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Lion Energy C&I BESS production floor. This role bridges the gap between engineering and assembly, ensuring that systems are built to exact schematics, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, and internal safety protocols. The successful candidate will provide matrix leadership to assembly teams, assist engineering with system validation, and serve as the Tier 2 hardware troubleshooting support for field installation teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance

  • Act as the floor-level electrical SME, providing hands-on guidance to assembly technicians and general labor during the mechanical and electrical integration of C&I BESS units.
  • Ensure all routing, terminations, and component installations strictly adhere to electrical codes, engineered schematics, and Lion Energy safety standards.
  • Intervene and correct unsafe practices or incorrect assembly methods in real-time, escalating chronic issues to production management.

Validation & Commissioning Support

  • Partner directly with Validation and Manufacturing Engineers to prepare C&I systems for testing.
  • Perform initial electrical safety checks, high-voltage terminations, and system power-ups in the facility's testing environment.
  • Assist in isolating and diagnosing hardware faults identified during the factory acceptance testing (FAT) phase.

Tier 2 Field Support (Hardware)

  • Serve as the Tier 2 escalation point for field installers encountering complex hardware, wiring, or electromechanical integration problems that cannot be resolved at the baseline installer level.
  • Diagnose issues related to isolation faults, breaker logic, contactor failures, and DC/AC power routing via phone, video, or field reports.
  • Triage and properly escalate software, firmware, and complex system-level anomalies to Tier 3 Engineering resources.

Documentation & Process Standardization

  • Collaborate with engineering and shop floor management to draft, review, and finalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for electrical assembly tasks.
  • Redline electrical schematics and blueprints based on floor-level realities and submit engineering change requests (ECRs) to improve manufacturability.

Facility Electrical Maintenance

  • Execute miscellaneous electrical tasks around the manufacturing facility as required, including
  • equipment tie-ins, shop power modifications, and routine electrical maintenance.
  • Ensure all facility electrical work is permitted (if applicable) and compliant with local codes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with direct experience in industrial manufacturing, power electronics, or heavy commercial installations.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Ability to read, interpret, and correct complex electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
    • Strong understanding of DC systems, 3-phase AC systems, and safety protocols for high-voltage environments (NFPA 70E / Arc Flash training preferred).
    • Familiarity with torque specifications, advanced testing equipment (meggers, multimeters, power quality analyzers), and quality control processes.
  • Attributes: Analytical problem-solver capable of communicating complex technical requirements to non-technical labor. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to challenge engineering assumptions constructively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and navigate around heavy machinery and BESS enclosures.
  • Dexterity to perform precise electrical terminations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
