Position Summary

The Elementary School Aide is a part-time, flexible position supporting student supervision, safety, and school culture during non-instructional periods. The role requires availability during key student transition times and the ability to adjust hours as needed to support school operations.

Essential Responsibilities

• The School Aide position is a part-time position (20 hours/week).
• Actively monitor an efficient, safe and healthy environment for our students during the lunch and recess periods.
• Maintain student culture by observing and addressing student behavior during transitions in the hallway and around community spaces such as the cafeteria, schoolyard, bathroom and water fountains.
• Interact positively with students, staff, and families
• Report all medical and discipline situations following the proper protocols.
• Participate in school-wide meetings and professional development.
• Support the school community with other duties upon request.
  
  

Qualifications

• Familiarity with the LION Community (parent/alumni/community member).
• Experience working with children.
• A strong sense of personal accountability for student success.
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication with students, colleagues, and families.
• Excellent behavior management skills, great attention to detail, and incredible flexibility to meet any. challenge with a positive, solutions-oriented outlook; willingness to go above and beyond to meet student needs.
• Preferably pursuing a degree or credential in education.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
