Employer: CONMED Corporation Title: Engineer III Location: 11311 Concept Blvd., Largo, FL 33773 Job duties: Supplier quality process ownership and responsibilities Achieve performance metrics established per defined objectives Identify and scope process improvement actions including projects, process flow maps, capability studies, work content analysis, etc. Perform supplier qualification and approval, including validations, inspection techniques, manufacturing process controls and quality systems controls. Manage / conduct supplier audits. Lead / support ECRs / ENCs through established quality tool(s) / systems Serve as coach / mentor for level I and II quality engineers. Continued development Identify and request assistance for training gaps Refine process competencies Assess process flow and barriers to the flow of material, information, or people Conduct regular process health checks and monthly process improvement projects closed outConduct evaluations at suppliers for processes adequacy and in response of identified opportunities Execute regular gemba walks to increase process knowledge, foster lean thinking and enable agile incoming inspection process Successfully deploy lean process principles and identify opportunities for cost savings/efficiency improvements Internalize quality Execute non-conformance management process Lead root cause analysis, risk assessments, etc. following 6 sigma methodologies Lead / support CAPA activities Lead / support potential business cases for internal and or supplier process and investment opportunities and corroborate cases with basic financial acumen to clearly convey the opportunity. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related engineering field. 5 years of relevant experience. Experience must include: Experience with medical devices or regulated industry. Reading and understanding engineering drawings. GD&T specifications and how they translate to measurement methods. Implementing statistical methods and techniques for process controls and data analysis. Practical application and capabilities of various types of inspection equipment, including hand tools (fixed gauges, micrometers, calipers) and programable touch and vision systems (CMM, DVM) and similar equipment. Creating formal PFMEA documentation summarizing potential failure modes and dictating engineering controls to offset. Up to 10% domestic travel required.
