Associate Material Handler Purpose: This position is an entry-level warehouse position. Performs material handling activities involved with receiving, storing, issuing, packaging and shipping materials (raw materials and finished goods). This position also performs chemical handling and mail room activities. Duties and Responsibilities: · Associate Material Handler position is intended to develop skills/understanding of warehouse processes, equipment, and systems. · Some responsibilities/training may include: · Receiving and dispersing of parts, from production and other departments · Processing incoming purchase receipts; maintaining errorless inventory to support Purchasing, Planning, and Production. · Organizing materials to maximize efficiencies: Generating and using A.P.Ws from counting scales · Transporting materials between buildings: maintaining reject hold area; moving gas cylinders between and within all buildings. · Monthly statistical inventory. · Must be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment. · Picking, packaging and shipping orders from inventory. · Replenishing prime inventory locations. · Performs other related tasks including but not limited to performing housekeeping tasks required to keep the work area safe, clean and organized. · Performs chemical handling activities as assigned. · Performs all mail room functions including the processing incoming/outgoing mail and completing internal mail deliveries across the buildings/company. · Sustains and maintains 5S standards and all continuous improvement activities. · Must follow all safety policies · Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Work Experience Requirements: Previous Warehouse experience preferred, but not required. Knowledge Requirements: Mathematical ability to calculate shipping charges/weights, piece count, unit of measure, etc. Must Safely handle and/or prepare for disposal, all hazardous chemicals and waste using safe handling procedures. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to work all scheduled overtime. Must be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment.
