What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026-2027 Secondary Science position at Linn MS/HS?
Osage County R-2 is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the sciences and a commitment to fostering academic excellence, scientific inquiry, problem-solving, and hands-on learning experiences for students.
This position could consist of teaching Middle School (grades 6 - 8) or High School (grades 9 - 12).
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with Missouri Learning Standards.
- Creating a positive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.
- Assessing student progress and providing timely feedback to support academic growth.
- Collaborating with colleagues and administration to develop interdisciplinary connections and school-wide initiatives.
Participating in professional development opportunities and school events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license for Secondary Science (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Non-certified applicants are encouraged to apply if working towards certification.
- Passion for inspiring young learners and fostering a love of Science.

Osage County R-2 School is a K-12 School located in Linn, Mo. It is approximately a 30-minute drive from Jefferson City on Hwy 50. We are a 4-day school week, operating Tuesday through Friday.
