Full-time position working in the Linn County Road Department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Perform the following duties:

• Service automobiles, trucks, tractors and other construction equipment with fuel, oil, grease,

water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, and air.

• Replace filters, brakes, lights, tires, and other component parts.

• Perform other routine maintenance procedures for vehicles and equipment.

• Keep detailed records of service.

• Operate computers generally and to find parts, service procedures, and etc.

• Assist mechanics occasionally as assigned.

• Ability to perform manual work in all weather conditions

• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, walk, crawl, reach and manipulate with arms, hands, and

fingers. Will lift up to ninety (90) pounds without assistance.

• Display a constructive, team-supportive attitude; and build positive working relationships.
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A, with endorsements for manual

transmission, air brakes, and tanker; with an acceptable Driving Record

• Graduation from high school or GED certificate and a minimum of one (1) year experience in

servicing and maintaining automotive and construction equipment

Applicants already possessing a class A CDL are preferable. Applicants not possessing a Class A CDL are
encouraged to apply. Linn County may provide training to the most suitable candidate.

COMPENSATION: Range: $4,779 - $5,229 per month
