Public Health Nurse – Maternal Child Health - Bilingual Required

Linn County Health Services is recruiting for a Full-Time Nurse Home Visitor for our Babies First and Cacoon Programs. Successful candidate will need to perform a variety of community health nursing duties, participating actively in program planning, representing community health nursing in community groups by providing nursing expertise and support. Also must have the ability to provide highly skilled professional nursing in a designated area or specialty such as community health and home visiting and have the ability to utilize the nursing process in the establishment of care for our clients.The duties listed are intended only as illustrative examples of the various types of work that may be performed by individuals in this classification. Any of the following duties may be performed. These examples do not include all specific essential functions and responsibilities the incumbent may be expected to perform.
Graduation from an approved school of nursing plus two years of current community health nursing experience or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the work described. Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Oregon at the time of appointment.
Bilingual Required. Testing requirements must be met.
Must be able to pass a criminal history check and possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record that meets the County's requirements.
This is a non-supervisory position. Lead work and coordination of work of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. Incumbents in this position may provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel.

- Assess, plan, evaluate and implement general community health nursing service in assigned area of responsibility or special program.
- Make home or office visits, giving direct patient care within the scope of standing orders, explaining basic concepts of prevention of disease and promotion of mental and physical health; teaching and demonstrating to patients and families nursing care and assisting families in understanding health needs and methods of meeting needs.
- Plan and exchange information with physicians and other health workers for more effective care of the individual patient; take responsibility for development of community organization and planning for health services with community groups.
- Maintain records for nursing services to families and clinics, and make reports as required.
- Develop and maintain effective, harmonious and reasonable work relationships with others.

Salary : $6,500 - $8,287
