Job Title: Part-Time Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Albany, OR
Schedule: 10-15 hours/week (flexible, includes occasional evenings/weekends)
Reports To: Public Health Program Manager
The Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting public health emergency preparedness and response efforts across Linn County. This part-time position is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing MRC volunteers, coordinating deployments, and fostering community engagement. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about public health and volunteerism.
Volunteer Management
• Recruit, onboard, and retain MRC volunteers from diverse backgrounds
• Maintain accurate volunteer records in SERV-OR and other databases
• Coordinate volunteer training, including orientation, HIPAA, BBP, and emergency protocols
• Schedule volunteers for drills, exercises, classes and events
Program Coordination
• Collaborate with local health departments, emergency management, and regional MRC units
• Assist in planning and executing public health events (e.g., vaccination clinics, CPR trainings, medical tents)
• Support logistics for emergency response operations and community outreach
• Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for volunteer engagement
Communication & Outreach
• Develop and distribute newsletters, updates, and event invitations
• Represent the MRC at community events, health fairs, and preparedness workshops
• Promote volunteer opportunities through social media, local media, and partner organizations
Required
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Background in healthcare, public health, or emergency services
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online volunteer management systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
• Experience coordinating volunteers or working in emergency preparedness
• Familiarity with SERV-OR or similar platforms
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in public health, emergency management, or related field

Salary : $35
