Responsibilities
- Honoring the resident's choices and preferences
- Provide personal hygiene assistance for residents or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, declining health, or accidents by attending to their needs, such as showering, bathroom needs, bathing, dressing and eating.
- Help residents with ambulation
- Ensuring drinks, meals and snacks are available to the residents at all times
- Assist in obtaining and maintaining good skin health of the residents
- May assist with transportation for the resident's appointments
- Prevention or reporting of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Interacting with the residents alone or in a group setting
- Implementation and following of the residents care plan
- Documentation of the resident's daily cares
- Ensuring the resident's personal space as well as the household is clean and clutter free
- Provide a safe environment for the residents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Qualifications
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
- Ability to life and/or move up to 50 pounds with the physical capability to perform job-related duties
- Reliable transportation every single day
- Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
- Available to work weekends and holiday
