Invites applications for the position of:

Mechanic

LOCATION: Marion, IA

JOB TYPE: Full-time

DESCRIPTION:

Performs a variety of mechanical service in the shop. Performs other work related as required.

Considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative.

Position Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Test drive and inspect vehicles to diagnose problems;

· Properly align vehicle, install steering and suspension parts;

· Engine Repairs including water pumps, intake gaskets, general repairs;

· Oil Changes;

· Tire Repairs;

· Brakes;

· General shop labor as needed;

· Vehicle inspection reports;

· MUST have own tools

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

· Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with other Coop employees, supervisory personnel and customers;

· Ability to maintain and operate equipment safely;

· Ability to operate a personal computer using program applications appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities;

· Ability to understand and make work decisions in accordance with office rules, regulations, policies and procedures;

· Ability to work cooperatively to accomplish job responsibilities;

· Ability to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

· Graduation from High School or GED, preferred;

· Mechanical Experience required;

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

· Adverse working conditions;

· Heavy lifting requirements: 50-100 pounds;

· Valid drivers’ license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
