We are seeking a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a project focused on evaluating and strengthening the pathways for cybersecurity careers. The SME will provide critical insight into cybersecurity certifications, training programs, policies, and emerging technologies that are foundational to building and sustaining a skilled cybersecurity workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert knowledge on cybersecurity certifications, credentials, and training programs relevant to various career levels and roles.
- Assess and provide input on current and emerging cybersecurity policies, standards, and regulations that influence workforce development.
- Identify key technologies and tools essential for hands-on training and career readiness in cybersecurity roles.
- Contribute subject-matter expertise to capability assessments of workforce development programs.
- Participate in stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working groups to gather insights and validate recommendations.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years of professional cybersecurity experience, with demonstrated expertise in certifications, training, or policy.
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA Security , CISSP, CISM, CEH, cloud security certifications (in-depth knowledge of leading cybersecurity certifications)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity training methods, labs, simulations, and tools.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity policies, compliance frameworks, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, DoD 8570/8140).
