Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cleaning Person to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a hygienic, organized, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. Your attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and proactive approach will contribute significantly to the overall upkeep of our premises. Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
• Handle custodial tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain sanitation standards.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners to ensure floors are spotless and well-maintained.
• Follow safety protocols for handling chemical agents and cleaning equipment to prevent accidents or exposure.
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or cleaning materials.
• Maintain supplies by restocking paper products, soaps, and cleaning agents as needed while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs or reporting issues that require professional attention.
• Support industrial cleaning or commercial cleaning projects as required, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are met consistently.
• Uphold safety standards by following proper procedures during all cleaning activities and participating in safety training sessions regularly.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred. Some compounding cleaning experience.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely according to established procedures is required.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices and facilities maintenance enhances your effectiveness in this role.
• Previous porter or maintenance experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices is necessary for handling supplies and equipment.
• Strong customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
