The Accounting Team Leader – Advisor serves as a trusted partner to clients, delivering strategic guidance and expert solutions to complex accounting, financial, and business challenges. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory Services
- Provide expert guidance on accounting, tax, and financial reporting matters
- Develop and implement financial strategies to enhance client performance
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Collaborate with other professional advisors to deliver comprehensive solutions
- Support clients with transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and funding
Technical Expertise
- Stay current on accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry trends
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and tax issues
- Conduct research and analysis to resolve technical matters
- Review and approve financial statements and reports
Engagement Management
- Lead and manage client engagements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
- Develop and manage project budgets and timelines
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams throughout engagements
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and internal policies
- Hold team members accountable for deliverables and performance
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Build and maintain a strong professional network
- Prepare and present proposals to prospective clients
- Participate in industry events and conferences
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor and develop junior staff
- Lead and motivate engagement teams

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Master’s degree (Accounting, Finance, MBA, or related) or relevant certification required
Experience
- 5 years of experience advising businesses
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex business tax returns
- Strong background in tax research and planning
- Experience with tax software and research tools
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
