Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Linux System Administrator (Senior-Level) to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

• Must be a US Citizen 
• Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
• Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

Our Linux System Administrator (Senior-Level) will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of enterprise workstations and servers in compliance with DoD and ARL IT policies at the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and manage RHEL systems and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environments.
• Administer KVM virtualization, Puppet automation, and kernel-level tuning.
• Implement system patching, STIG compliance, and release/version control.
• Monitor performance, handle incident response, and ensure uptime and data integrity.
• Automate tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or equivalent configuration management tools.
• Maintain backup and recovery solutions and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
• Conduct system audits and enforce DoD security requirements.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive configuration documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen. 
• Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
• Must have an MS or BA/BS in computer sciences or information technology with two (2 ) additional years of experience.
• Eight (8 ) years of relevant experience working in an IT or Service Desk environment.
• IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Certification.
• Ability to work with customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing structures and new requirements.

Preferred:

• Supervisory or lead position experience. 
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 certification
• Experience with incident management within the ServiceNow Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platform.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
• Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
• A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
• Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Salary Range: $64,000 - $108,000

Several factors influence the final salary or hourly rate, including but not limited to contract wage determinations, relevant work experience, role-specific skills and competencies, geographic location, educational background, certifications, and federal government contract labor categories
