Position Overview
Based in Bloomfield Hills, MI we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance with both mechanical and electrical expertise, preferably within manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field service activities including routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on induction heating generators and induction hardening machines while ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, including both high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with technical sales teams and support continuous improvement initiatives to identify customer needs and improve equipment performance.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters for diagnostics and testing.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and equipment performance analyses.
What Makes You a Good Fit?
- 3 years of experience with high-voltage and low-voltage application services and / or repairs in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance or industrial mechanics.
- Previous experience as an industrial electrician, field service technician, or military technical specialist is advantageous but not required.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools and electrical measuring instruments.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with induction heating or heat treating equipment is a plus.
- Experience in technical sales is a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed for customer support and service calls.
