We are looking for a talented Machine Technician Co-op who will be able to apply coursework concepts to real-world situations working alongside professional, experienced colleagues while also gaining valuable experience working for a global manufacturing and engineering company. The qualified applicant will become part of the Manufacturing Team where he/she will interact with our Engineers, Technicians, and a variety of support staff. This job offers a work-integrated learning opportunity with a flexible schedule.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up and running manual and CNC machines in the Machining department.
- Learn about shop mathematics to get the knowledge required to read and follow blueprints.
- Follow instructions to inspect parts to assure dimensional accuracy for machine adjustments.
- Count finished parts to ensure orders are complete as required.
- Follow instructions to use proper part identification.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
- All other related duties as assigned.
- Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited program at a college or university.
- Pursuing a degree related to the CO-OP program's focus.
- Previous internship or relevant coursework a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated to tackle engineering challenges.
- Able to follow instructions, listen and communicate clearly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adapt to change as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk.
- Ability to speak verbally and read in English.
- Ability to see with corrective lenses
- Ability to hear.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand up for long periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer.
