Job Description
The Lead Barista / Coffee Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house coffee operations while delivering an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced, specialty coffee shop. This role leads by example, supports the barista team, and ensures consistent quality, efficiency, and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Serve as the on-shift leader for barista staff, providing direction, support, and coaching.
- Ensure team members follow recipes, service standards, and cleanliness expectations.
- Assist with training new baristas and reinforcing best practices.
- Act as the point of contact for operational or customer service issues during the shift.
Customer Experience
- Greet customers and create a welcoming, friendly environment.
- Determine customer preferences and confidently recommend appropriate coffee and food menu options.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.
Front Counter & Bar Operations
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee drinks and food items to quality standards.
- Complete transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain smooth workflow during high-volume periods.
Operational Support
- Monitor product levels and ensure counters and bar areas are stocked and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the shift.
- Support opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Communicate operational needs or issues to management.
Job Type: Part-time
