CAD Technician – Utilities

LineWorks Engineering is seeking a CAD Utility Drafter to support our growing Power Delivery team in our Tampa, Florida office. In this role, you will work closely with our team of engineers and designers to develop high-quality CAD design and construction drawings, as well as permit packages, for utility clients. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in the utility design industry while applying their drafting skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, minimum 2 years of drafting experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Electric utility experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently
- Self-motivated with excellent time management abilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Pre-employment drug screening, background check, and E-Verify
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and revise utility designs and construction drawings using AutoCAD
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to support project deliverables
- Interpret technical data and incorporate it into drafting designs
- Gather project data, coordinate client outreach, and perform drafting/design for utility permits
- Maintain drawing accuracy, quality, and consistency with company and client standards
- Support both office and occasional field-related project needs
