What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at Linemark Printing Inc?
JOB FUNCTION
Manages the day-to-day operations within Linemark’s warehouse. Oversees the receiving in of product and the picking, packing and shipping of all warehouse orders. Responds to and provides great customer service to all Linemark clients and internal employees. Gives daily direction to other warehouse workers and possesses the ability to identify areas falling behind and can proactively act to get back on track.
Work Environment:
Work indoors; traveling to and from internal departments, as needed. May be exposed to: Noise while inside the Company via printing equipment, presses, etc. May be required to work in both extreme heat and cold while in the warehouse.
General Physical Mobility:
Standing: Up to seven hours a day, during a seven and one half hour shift. Walking: Within Linemark, up to seven hours a day. Bending, stooping, twisting of the trunk, and reaching. Pushing and/or pulling. Required to be able to continuously lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
DUTIES
Proper operation of forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and other equipment to safety and productivity requirements, including but not limited to: move materials to proper staging areas within departments or designation locations.
Packaging of products to be shipped and coordination of transportation services. UPS, FedEx, USPS (and other 3rd Party Shippers) software is to be used effectively and understood for summary reporting on request.
Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
Must be familiar with proper packaging methods.
General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of shipping areas. Requires hands-on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other departments.
Prepares and expedites shipments. Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: assembling and packaging product cartons, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons, skids or other storage constructions in an accurate manner including any special labels that are required by the customer. Posts weights and shipping charges.
Quality Control. Examines outgoing product; rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with Manager/CSR to address issues.
Ensures the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED Required.
1-3 Years of warehouse management experience required.
Ability to supervise a team of warehouse workers required. Strong skills in team/personnel management.
Excellent computer skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience with Inventory Management Systems
Experience with UPS, USPS, FedEx, and other 3rd party shipping software.
Ability to lift, push and pull 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, reach, and climb/descend stairs safely for up to 8 hours a day.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
