What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Electrical Engineer position at Linear Search?
We are a major global manufacturer within the chemical industry. Right now, we're looking for a strong Senior Electrical Engineer to build industrial panels for us. The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as the technical lead for electrical and electronics engineering projects, including hardware design and electrical safety. This is a great role for someone who wants to work the full control panel stack and have their hands in all aspects of design and building them!
Responsibilities
- Specify and implement motors, sensors, and control systems for industrial machinery and production lines.
- Design, capture schematics, lay out, and debug industrial control panels using ECAD tools.
- Assemble and wire prototype panels and electrical systems.
- Design, develop, document, and assemble hardware test fixtures.
- Modify and document lab equipment and printing presses to meet evolving electrical needs.
- Develop and execute hardware testing plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for electrical safety compliance, adhering to standards from NFPA, OSHA, UL, ISO, CE, and others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering (or a related field)
- 6 years of experience in electrical/electronic hardware design
- Proficiency in industrial panel and wire harness design, including PLC-based systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and UL-compliant panel design
- Skilled in ECAD software for schematic capture and layout
- Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, etc.)
- Capable of debugging and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Familiarity with electrical signal quality analysis and issue resolution
- Understanding of relevant safety and regulatory standards (NFPA 79, UL 508A, CE)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience obtaining industrial compliance approvals (UL, NFPA, CE)
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, IO-Link, etc.)
- Expertise in analyzing and resolving electrical signal integrity issues
Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
