Position Overview:
The Resident Care Specialist provides direct care and assistance with daily living activities to residents in a compassionate, respectful, and person-centered manner. This role plays a vital part in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of residents in coordination with the nursing and care teams.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care Assistance
· Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
· Ensure residents’ hygiene and comfort are maintained with dignity and respect.
· Support residents with meals, hydration, and snacks as needed.
2. Health Monitoring & Documentation
· Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to nursing staff.
· Accurately document care provided and vital signs as required.
· Assist with routine health checks and follow care plans.
3. Resident Engagement & Support
· Encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities.
· Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
· Promote independence and dignity in all interactions.
4. Safety & Cleanliness
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in resident rooms and common areas.
· Follow infection control and safety procedures consistently.
· Assist with cleaning and laundry duties as assigned.
5. Team Collaboration & Communication
· Communicate effectively with coworkers, nurses, and supervisors.
· Participate in shift handovers and care plan updates.
· Respond promptly to resident call lights and needs.
Qualifications:
· Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Experience: Previous caregiving or healthcare experience preferred.
· Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent preferred.
· Skills: Basic knowledge of elderly care and ability to follow care plans.
