Position Overview:
The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in resident rooms and common areas. This role reports to the Clinical Nurse Supervisor and supports the wellbeing of residents by observing and reporting any changes or concerns related to resident conditions or safety.
Role Responsibilities:
- Environmental Cleanliness
· Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to schedule and procedure.
· Dust, vacuum, mop, and empty trash in designated areas daily.
· Ensure all cleaning products and tools are used safely and stored properly.
- Resident Interaction & Observation
· Greet residents respectfully and maintain a courteous demeanor.
· Observe and report any changes in residents' behavior, physical condition, or environment to the Clinical Nurse Supervisor.
· Maintain residents' dignity and privacy while performing duties.
- Laundry & Linen Support
· Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry and linens as assigned.
· Handle resident clothing with care and label as appropriate.
- Infection Control & Safety
· Follow all infection control protocols and cleaning standards.
· Report maintenance or safety hazards promptly.
· Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Teamwork & Communication
· Coordinate with nursing and caregiving staff regarding cleaning schedules and resident preferences.
· Document completed tasks and report supply needs to supervisor.
· Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions.
Qualifications:
· Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
· Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare preferred.
· Skills: Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and infection control.
· Certifications: None required; training provided upon hire.
