What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Career Services position at Lindsey Wilson College?
Lindsey Wilson University is seeking applicants for a Director of Career Services to work with all students to increase career awareness and assist in the formulation of their personal and professional goals.
Candidate must be enthusiastic and possess strong organizational and communication skills, have the ability to multi-task and work well with and relate to students and colleagues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supply and oversee individual and group career advising for Main Campus students, extended site campus students, Lindsey Online students and all alumni.
- Lead and develop social media marketing efforts to promote office services.
- Provide assessment intakes and career advising to all students.
- Coordinate and present various workshops, seminars, fairs, events and orientations for Career Services (Senior Orientation, Camp Fair, Graduate and Professional School Fair, Spring Career Fair, GRE Preparation, etc.).
- Promote various workshops and events held by Career Services to students and the campus community for main and extended campuses.
- Work closely with all students to provide resume development, job search resources, graduate school information, and all aspects of Career Advising.
- Work with AIKCU consortium regarding Spotlight Career & Graduate Fair and other professional development opportunities for students and self.
- Collaborate with local Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations.
- Collect and analyze statistical evidence of programs participation and effectiveness to quantify services as outlined under SACS standards of practice.
- Create and maintain online “Career Services on Demand” presentations for extended campus students and alumni as well as provide webinar workshops for interactive lessons both scheduled and requested by specific campus locations/faculty.
- Serve as an advocate for students/graduates in the job search process, including salary negotiation.
- Plan and conduct marketing calls and direct mail marketing follow-up with possible employers. Educate employers on curriculum and competitive compensation. Plan and conduct employer visits and on-campus recruiting. Actively and routinely seek employer feedback and researches industry trends. Share this information when appropriate within the school to aid in the development/enhancement of curriculum and successful outcomes for graduates.
- Work closely with Faculty to contribute to course content and coach graduates and students on career search strategies, personal marketing, interview skills, self-promotion methods and materials.
- Operate and maintain department within budget.
- Assist Dean of Student Services with any and all duties as assigned.
