Responsibilities
- Design and implement detailed curriculum plans covering sterilization procedures, medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, and infection control protocols.
- Deliver engaging online instruction and classroom-based training sessions to diverse student populations, including clinical staff and aspiring sterile processing technicians.
- Supervise students during clinical training experiences in hospital or laboratory settings, ensuring adherence to safety standards and best practices.
- Assess student performance through documentation review, practical demonstrations, and written examinations; provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
- Develop and update instructional materials utilizing learning technology platforms such as LMS (Learning Management System) and Blackboard to enhance educational delivery.
- Review research literature, publish papers in peer-reviewed journals, and stay current with advancements in medical research, clinical trials, and healthcare education methodologies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on curriculum development for specialized areas such as radiology, anesthesiology, oncology, pediatrics, neurology, internal medicine, critical care, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), veterinary terminology, and public health.
Qualifications
- Proven experience supervising or instructing in sterile processing or related clinical environments with a strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development for adult education settings within higher education or hospital training programs.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Blackboard or similar learning technology tools; experience managing online instruction is highly desirable.
- Background in medical research, clinical trials, or publishing medical research articles; experience securing research funding is a plus.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, documentation review processes, and laboratory experience in hospital or clinic settings.
- Working experience with students from diverse cultural backgrounds; excellent communication skills for engaging learners effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop comprehensive training modules that incorporate anatomy knowledge, pathology insights, diagnostic radiology principles, and other specialized topics like veterinary physiology or adult education techniques.
