We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our patient-focused ophthalmology practice. If you enjoy working with people, have strong clinical skills, and are committed to providing exceptional patient care, we'd love to hear from you.
Position:
- Full-time (Monday–Friday)
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and prepare patients for examination.
- Obtain medical and ocular histories.
- Measure visual acuity and perform preliminary testing.
- Perform diagnostic testing, including OCT, Visual Fields, Fundus Photography, refraction, and intraocular pressure (if trained).
- Assist physician with examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer eye drops and provide patient education.
- Document findings accurately in the electronic medical record (Epic).
- Maintain examination rooms and ophthalmic equipment clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- Previous ophthalmic experience preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and EMR proficiency.
- Positive attitude and commitment to exceptional patient care.
