Vice President of Human Resources – Linden Oaks Campus
Schedule: Full-time, Exempt
Location: Hybrid
Salary: $165,000–$175,000 per year

As VP of HR, you will guide the systems, structures, and values that strengthen our people, elevate our leaders, and ensure every employee feels empowered, included, and supported.
What You’ll Do
As a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will:
  • Serve as the organization’s strategic HR advisor, partnering closely with the CEO, senior leaders, and board-level stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term HR strategies that advance our mission and ensure a positive, equitable employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, employment regulations, accreditation standards (CDE, CARF), and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Lead organizational development initiatives including employee engagement, leadership development, DEI, retention strategies, workforce planning, and succession development.
  • Oversee system-wide HR operations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and a people-first approach across all policies, procedures, and employee interactions.
  • Direct compensation and benefits strategy, including health/welfare benefits, retirement plans, and leave programs.
  • Oversee risk mitigation efforts such as workplace safety, employee relations, investigations, and crisis response.
  • Lead organizational change efforts, policy updates, compliance training, and collaboration with legal counsel as needed.
  • Manage performance management systems that promote continuous growth, accountability, and leadership excellence.
  • Oversee HRIS systems, data analytics, and technologies that support hybrid/remote work and streamline HR processes.
  • Prepare and present key HR metrics to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Lead, develop, and supervise HR team members while fostering a culture of collaboration, responsiveness, and innovation.
  • Model “best in class” customer service and culture-building practices that support an engaged, mission-driven workforce.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine HR practices to enhance efficiency, reduce burden on staff, and strengthen data-informed decision-making.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support staff, leadership, and organizational goals.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Ten (10) years of progressive HR experience, including five (5) years in senior HR leadership.
  • Experience in non-profit, education, community mental health, or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred.
  • SHRM or HR certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong commitment to advancing the Linden Oaks mission and fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace.
  • Deep knowledge of California and federal labor laws, HR compliance, and collective bargaining.
  • Proven expertise in strategic HR leadership, organizational development, DEI, and change management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to build trust with staff at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Ability to lead with empathy, humility, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Skilled at navigating complex employee relations issues with discretion and fairness.
  • High adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office, and workplace technologies (e.g., Monday.com).
